InSinkErator H-WaveC-SS Review

Features

InSinkErator H-WaveC-SS Instant Hot Water Dispenser SystemThis InSinkErator system consists of an instant hot water dispenser and a stainless steel hot water tank, and it can provide you with near-boiling hot water. As this device is made of durable metal construction, it proves to be a sturdy one. In addition to this, the system is equipped with a Chrome finish faucet for hot water. Bear in mind that the control lever moves backward, and it takes about 1, 25 inches to move from full on to full off position. You may also find it useful to know that the stout swivels about 30 degrees left and right, but it also has stops so that it doesn’t go too far in either direction.

Using an intuitive switch, you can adjust the temperature easily – choosing from 160 to 210 degrees. Bear in mind that the factory pre-set is 200 degrees. So if this is too hot for you, you may adjust it at the very beginning. Remember that you shouldn’t use this water to wash your hands with it as it is too hot. Its purpose is to be used for hot beverages such as tea or coffee and cooking.

If you intend to connect this device to a tankless RO system, keep in mind that the flow rate will get very low. Also, the water may pick up a metallic taste.  Some people think that this system will purify their water. However, this is not a filter, and it is designed only to heat water.

Concerned about your safety, the manufacturers have integrated a unique hot lever in the system. The lever itself is equipped with an instant self-closing valve, which shuts off automatically after some time– for safety reasons.

Installation

Luckily, you can mount this system yourself as there is no plumbing required. It is advisable to install it on the edge of your kitchen sink. You will surely find the tool-free tank connections that come with the system useful. Remember that if you don’t have a hole drilled into your kitchen’s counter, you will have to make one. To install the faucet, you will need a hole with a diameter of 1, 25 to 1, 50 inches.

Also, the counter should not be more than 3 inches thick. If the counter is too thick, then you may need additional extensions. In addition to this, you need to ensure that you have a dedicated control valve with compression fitting and a T-fitting.  You may also need to have Teflon tape. Keep in mind that the system needs to be installed near an unswitched AC power outlet. As far as the power cord is concerned, it is integrated into the heating unit.
