Unlike the other submersible well pumps, this one is suitable for potable water. You can also use it to supply garden water and connect it to a garden hose. However, in this case, you will need an adapter. Using this pump for industrial heavy-duty is also possible. This unit allows us to be mounted both vertically and horizontally. If you decide to install it horizontally, on its side, just make sure that the diameter of the well or barrel is wide enough for the length of the pump. You also need to ensure that the device is fully submerged. Reportedly, this unit is a sturdy and durable one thanks to the fact that it is made of stainless steel.
Keep in mind that this pump is designed to work with clean water. Therefore, it cannot handle a lot of sand. If there is a chance of a lot of sand entering the pump, you’d better install an extra filter around the pump so that it can prevent sand from entering into the unit.
Like all other 4-inch pumps, this one is also suitable for wells with a diameter of at least 5 inches. This one also has a built-in control box and doesn’t require an external one. Remember, that it is designed to pump in open tanks, and cannot be used in pressure ones. Its motor is a 2-wired one, and it is characterized by 0, 5 horsepower. It covers from 100 to 130 V, but it’s better to power it with 115 V. The maximum flow rate that this pump provides is 33 GPM.
If you have decided to get this product, keep in mind that it doesn’t feature an automatic shutoff. So it is recommended to get two switches – one of them to start/stop the pump, and the other one – for low-pressure cutoff. The start/stop switch will be very convenient to use when you turn on or off the pump. You are probably aware that it is not a good idea to let the pump run 24/7 as its parts, especially the moving ones, may wear out. So imagine how hard it would be to pull the pump out every time when you have to start or stop it. Following this line of thought, we can conclude that float switches are handy and make your life easier.
Installation
This pump is equipped with a built-in check valve, which is located in the discharge head of the pump. If, by any chance, you want to disable the check valve (for example, if you want the water to drain back into the well to prevent it from freezing), you can drill several 1/3-inch holes through the check valve. You need to be very careful while you are doing this. If your well is very deep, then it is advisable to install an additional spring-loaded in-line check valve in the drop pipe at 200 feet intervals.

Warranty and Service
The warranty for this pump is one year for parts and labor. However, the customer service staff doesn’t honor this warranty. So if any of the elements of the pump get damaged, they do not replace them.
